How Often Should Wolf Baffle Filters Be Cleaned?
Monthly is the safe habit: Wolf's how-to page says about once a month, sooner if you fry or use a wok, though its latest pro hood guide allows three to six months. Two-Minute Check
Run it in order. Nothing here needs a panel off, a ladder or a wire touched.
- Switch the blower and lights off and let the canopy cool for a few minutes.
- Put gloves on, since the edges can be sharp, then press each filter up and swing its bottom edge out; on older hoods the centre filter comes out first.
- Lift out any grease cups along the bottom edge and wipe the loose grease off cups and filters with paper towel.
- Dishwash filters and cups (hand-wash a cup too big for it), let them dry, then seat the cups before the filters.
- On a downdraft, press the FILTER button once its clean mesh filters are back in place — the reminder light should go out.

Why Wolf gives two figures
Wolf ties the interval to how you cook, so its advice spans a month to half a year. Nightly searing, frying or wok work loads the baffles far faster than simmering.
Grease caked in the channels narrows the airway, so the hood grows louder and pulls less. A hood that roars on high gets checked here first.
The one rule
Never run the hood with its filters out, not even while they dry. Wolf warns that doing so can damage the blower and other parts inside.
