How the visit runs

   Model and symptom on the phone

   The plate is inside the door frame or under the burner box. With the model number and a plain description, the likely fault is usually down to two or three candidates before dispatch.

   Measured, not guessed

   Temperatures logged against the set point, ignition and gas pressure checked at the burner, stored fault codes read off the board. You get the reading that proves the diagnosis.
